So why a crisis mapping class?

Our second crisis mapping class meets tomorrow and I have spent the weekend reading blog posts, answering emails, and watching the students begin to join the wider crisis mapping community. I don’t know if every professor has the luxury that Jennifer and I are experiencing through teaching this class, and that is genuine excitement. In their blog posts and questions, it’s clear that each student is excited about the potential of this field for their own reasons; or they are excited about learning how to realize the potential of this field. First Class Details

Hello future Crisis Mappers! It was fantastic to meet most of you at the information session last week, and we are looking forward to our first class on Tuesday. Note the room change to East 016. Please come to class prepared to discuss the readings for the first class.  These readings can be found on the class web site, under “Course Information” –> “Class 1”.  You should have already received an email with login information for accessing the protected areas. If you did not receive this, please email Roz for help. You will need to change your password immediately upon logging in for the first time.
